Born on the 23rd of August 1987 in Mutare, Zimbabwe. Bothwell attended both his Primary and Secondary education in Mutare. He is a holder of a Bachelor of Science Honors in Administration(BSc HAD) and an Executive Certificate in Project and Program Monitoring& Evaluation from University of Zimbabwe(2012). He has worked in the Ministry of Education as a High school educator for the period September 2012 to June 2015. He has also worked as a volunteer at Zimbabwe Aids Council in Mutare Rural District. He is currently studying a Bachelor of Arts Honors Degree in Migration and Displacement Studies at the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. Bothwell has a broad interest in Migration and Health, particularly commercial sex work and migrant access to health care.
